We are so thankful to our volunteers who keep the Castle running. From researching to gardening, everyone’s contributions are so appreciated.
Garden Volunteers
Garden Volunteers
Our volunteers support Mark and Andrew (our professionals) as they enable the wide variety of plants, trees and shrubbery to shine. We have a large Regency Kitchen Garden where the produce grown services the onsite restaurant 1176. We also have a secret ally in ‘Robbo’, a robot lawn mower programmed to navigate the lawns via satellite, who ensures the lawns look at their best.

Each year at the Castle a variety of events are held, from small intimate theatre performances in the Tower room to large-scale rock concerts on the lawn with over a thousand people, under the canopy of trees. Our event volunteers ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable time, making things run smoothly and efficiently.
Research Volunteers
Research Volunteers
Our research volunteers play important roles in uncovering, preserving, and interpreting the stories of Cardigan Castle. From archival research, to cataloging and organising, transcribing, and assisting with exhibits, research volunteers become detectives of the past and help to tell the world about the Castle’s diverse history.
Tour Guides
Tour Guides
Our tour guides help to share the history of Cardigan Castle. From telling school trips all about Lord Rhys and the Eisteddfod, to guiding individuals or small groups around the Castle Green House and delving into the rich history of the rooms.
