Wedding photographs 80 years apart

Couple first to be photographed at castle since 1927

Cardigan Castle has played host to its first newly married couple for over 80 years.

Crymych couple Emma and Sion Thomas were hoping to have outdoor photographs taken after their wedding at Blaenffos Chapel.

But the wet weather was against them – until photographer Helen Davies had a bright idea and gave Cardigan Castle a ring.

Emma and Sion had an exclusive photo call in Castle Green House – the first newly married couple to be photographed on site since Dr Stuart Spickett and Morfydd Evans had their photos taken on the lawn back in 1927 in what was the Cardigan society wedding of the year.

Both Emma and Sion were delighted with their impromptu photocall – and the stunning photographs that were the result.

“It really made our day,” said Emma.
