Join us for a weekend of rest and renewal in the luxurious, peaceful surroundings of Cardigan Castle in West Wales. Nurture yourself with a break away with good food, fresh air and gentle exercise. Give yourself a weekend of ‘me-time’, time to learn with others and time for yourself in this fabulous location. Enhance your health and well-being with an introduction to traditional Chinese health arts. Tai Ji Quan and Qigong (Tai Chi Chuan and Chi Kung) exercise help to create stillness in the mind through the their slow graceful movements. With practice, your ability to relax, your flexibility, co-ordination and balance will improve.
With no more than 10 participants, this weekend offers a friendly intimate space, allowing us to support you to meet your individual needs. This course is open to everyone, no previous experience is necessary.
What we offer
This weekend will introduce you to a range of traditional remedial exercise, breathing, stretching, strengthening, co-ordination, ‘letting go’ and balance work. It will include sitting and walking mediation, Tai Ji Quan and Qigong. This course aims to show you to a different approach to exercise through an introduction to traditional Chinese health arts. Relaxing the body and resting the mind brings contentment, enhancing your enjoyment of your weekend retreat. This will support you to deal with the stresses and challenges of daily life with more ease and balance.
The Weekend
Your weekend begins with a welcome from 6pm on Friday followed by the evening meal and ends with a final workshop on Monday morning. During the weekend there will be eight taught sessions of one and a half hours each with Clare Skelton and two additional optional evening sessions.
One treatment with Sean Dowdall is included in the cost of the weekend.
Saturday and Sunday afternoons will be free for you to rest in the peaceful castle gardens or to explore the local coast and countryside.
